A piece I did for the
Rated R Art Show, an exhibit that I co-curated with
Mara Sternberg. The piece premiered September 17th, and was exhibited until October 1st.
The piece itself is pretty big: it's 3 feet by 7, the largest I've ever personally done. It's a depiction of Aum, one of the two
KongÅrikishi that protected the Buddha during his travels. Aum also potentially signifies birth...hence the screaming mouth.
Conceptually, it's part of a triptych. I've been thinking about finishing it for my own sake. On the other hand, the approximate size of the tryptych itself would stand something like 10-20 feet high, and God knows how wide. Like, that would be amazing...but it'd be hard to showcase. Maybe I'll luck out and get a warehouse to show my work in.
